A late 19th-century oil painting on board after A Standing Cavalier Holding a Halberd by the listed French artist Jean-Louis-Ernest Meissonier (1815-1891), originally created in 1851 and reproduced by A. Rueff (Austria, 19th Century) in 1889. The painting depicts a 17th-century man in court dress holding a halberd in his left hand. It is signed ‘A. Rueff 1889’ and noted ‘aprés Meissonier’ (after Meissonier) to the lower left. Presented without glass in an ornate gilt frame.

- cracks to molding stains to frame; abrasions to painting at frame edges.
