Korean Brass Dragon Emile Bell

A Korean brass bell, known as an Emile Bell (에밀레종), after the Divine Bell of King Seongdeok in Gyeongju. This features a tall oblong bell with shallow relief ornamentation of four figures and bands and panels of foliates. This is suspended with a chain loop by a stand in the intricate form of a dragon with billowing fire, at the end of which a brass mallet hangs. Along the bottom edge of the bell it reads ‘Presented by MG Kim, Shin Bae’ and it has a two row of seven Chinese characters.
