An original mixed media drawing on paper by well listed folk artist, and illustrator of urban plight and African American oppression, Roy Ferdinand (1959 -2004 ). Ferdinand is one of the most important folk artists of modern times and thoroughly illustrated 1980s/90s New Orleans and surrounding areas. His work is exhibitive of the urban plight, and rise of crack cocaine and everything that was arisen from the wake of. This image is more somber than typical, and features a young African American man praying over his bed. The drawing is signed to the bottom left hand corner and dated 1998. The drawing is shrink wrapped to foam core and awaits your choice of presentation.
