A graphite drawing on paper of a figural waterfront scene by well-listed American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997). This work features people enjoying a day on the waterfront building sandcastles, eating lunch, and engaging in other lounging activities. The paper is signed to the lower right in graphite. Presented under off-white matting and wrapped in acetate.

Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
