A signed original watercolor and gouache painting on paper of a still life by listed Indiana artist Robert Lohman (1919-2001). An original painting on rice paper depicting a red vase with purple, red and yellow flowers in an atmospheric background. The painting is signed ‘R. LOHMAN’ and dated ‘1-7-1980’ on the lower right hand corner below the image. Presented in a black mat board with no acrylic glass. Lohman was known for his portrait and figure sculptor, as well as a painter using a variety of materials like wood, plaster, oil paint, watercolor, ceramics, and bronze. After studying at John Herron Art Institute Lohman went on to Cranbrook and Yale for his graduate work.
Condition
- some wearing of edges of mat along left rim, a crease in the white mat in bottom left corner.
