Edgar Yaeger Hand Colored Woodblock Print

An original hand colored woodblock print by well-listed American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997). The print depicts a green vase filled with three yellow flowers, sitting on a window sill with the countryside visible in the distance. It is signed in graphite to the lower right margin. Presented in white matting and wrapped in acetate.

Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
