Edgar Yaeger Signed Limited Edition Woodblock on Paper Architectural Landscape

A signed limited edition color woodblock print on paper of an architectural landscape by well-listed, American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997), created in 1987. This work features two figures standing in a field before Medieval architectural buildings with a blue sky above. The work is dated and signed by hand in graphite to the lower right margin; it is numbered 32 out of an edition of 100 to the lower left margin. This work is presented in white matting and wrapped in acetate.
Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
