Group of Japanese Woodblock Prints
Item Details
A group of Japanese woodblock prints including five vintage restrikes from the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (富士三十六景 Fuji sanjūrokkei) by Utagawa Hiroshige (歌川 広重, 1797-1858). The prints include Fuji-view Teahouse at Zōshigaya (雑司かや不二見茶や Zōshigaya Fujimi chaya), The Tone River at Kōnodai (鴻の台とね川 Kōnodai Tonegawa), Fuji Seen from the Left on the Tōkaidō Road (海堂左り不二 Tōkaidō hidari Fuji), The Sumida River Embankment in Edo (東都墨田堤 Tōto Sumida-zutsumi), and Ryōgoku Bridge in Edo (東都両ごく Tōto Ryōgoku). Also included is a sixth print featuring three buddhas ascending with Japanese writing along either side. Each is presented in a mat, but otherwise unframed.
