A vintage W.F. Moran 7’ lime kiln clip point blade with stag handle knife and custom stitched leather belt sheath. Knife features a brass cross guard and carved grip handle with metal pommel for hammering. This circa 1960s fixed blade hunting knife is heavy and substantial, created by William (Bill) F. Moran Jr. (1925-2006) who was a pioneering American knife maker. He founded the American Bladesmith Society and is notable for reintroducing the process of making pattern welded steel to modern knife making. Moran’s knives have been especially sought after by celebrities and heads-of-state. The ricasso is stamped ‘W.F. Moran Lime Kiln MD.’ on one side.
Condition
Used. Condition consistent with use and age. Blade shows wear from normal use, brass has some patina patches, leather sheath shows wear from use.
