A lot of Civil War Items from soldier George H. Scott to include a silver plated bugle, a US belt plate, an 1864 US leather cartridge box with the original tins, an Indian-Wars era group portrait with Scott and his regiment handwritten at the bottom ‘Gettysburg-Penn 1898’, an A.F. Merry Pawtucket, RI mounted photograph of Scott with his regiment, a printed letter from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on the Fiftieth Anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg discussing the veterans celebration and a printed document announcing a Department of Rhode Island GAR excursion to Washington DC dated 1892.

Documentation from the American Civil War Database is also included indicating George H Scott enlisted on 12/22/1863 and was mustered into ‘I’ company Massachusetts 18th Infantry. After engaging in many battles, he was among the troops that overtook General Lee at Appomattox and was one of the regiments detailed to accept the arms and colors at the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia, April 9th, 1865. After the war, George Scott lived in Franklin, MA.

Condition

- leather pouch is complete with strap and tins, the leather is hardened with some loose stitching; bugle is dented as one would expect and want to see, the paper documentation and photos are toned from age but have been kept in plastic sleeves.

- measurements refer to pouch; the buckle is 2" high x 3.25"; the larger photograph is 8″ × 10″ and the smaller is 4.5″ × 8″; the bugle is 4″ × 9″.
