An original oil on canvas by J. Sprague. A neoclassical Romantic nude laying on a marble block is the subject of the work. In a pose reminiscent to the grand odalisque the figure has an ethereal quality about her. The work is signed in the lower right corner by the artist in paint. The canvas as been stretched on a new frame and is framed behind glass in an ornate Rocco style gold frame with wire on the verso for hanging. There has been a repair to the canvas.
