A power-loomed Indo-Persian wool area rug. This Persian-style rug features a star at the center of the rug’s central, curvilinear medallion. The blue and ivory medallion rests on a red lozenge over an ivory field with sky blue spandrels. The rug’s field and surrounding areas, as well as borders, are populated with ornate floral and foliate designs in scarlet, indigo, green, pink, fuchsia and orange. It has a compound border with the primary border in deep blue has a stylized herati motif in the same colors with floral guard borders on pale blue. It has dense cotton fringe to each end, with leather strips affixed to the edges at the underside. It is unmarked.
