Peter Robert Keil (born 1942, Pomerania, now Poland) is a prolific German artist. Mentored initially by Otto Nagel in the expressionist form, and as a metalworker artist at the University of Arts in Berlin, Keil’s style would undergo a series of noticeable transformations due to personal experiences and his developing passion for travel. This metamorphosis was first observed during the 1960s, and within a decade his spontaneous and exuberant signature style was established. Keil chooses flowers, portraits, cityscapes and landscapes as his preferred subjects. Alongside the occasional sculpture in steel and wood, he is also an experienced ceramicist.
