Pairing of Hand Colored Engravings After Thomas Allom
Item Details
A pairing of hand-colored engravings after works by Thomas Allom (1804 – 1872). One print is engraved by J. Lewis and titled Ancient Castelllet in Doddington House. The print was featured in The counties of Chester, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Rutland, & Lincoln Illustrated, circa 1837, hand-colored at a later date. The other print was engraved by F.J. Havell and titled Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire, circa 1835, also hand-colored at a later date. The prints feature artist name and information along the bottom. The items are matted, under glass, and framed.

- frames are separating at corners; paint on frames is wearing off; frames are scratched; pieces are loose in frame.
