A collection of first edition sterling silver ingots of the Bicentennial Council of the Thirteen Original States. These Bicentennial ingots were issued by the Franklin Mint In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the American Revolution. The collection comprises bicentennial historical-themed sterling silver ingots (.925) individually packaged in individually postmarked envelopes. The ingots were originally issued through subscription. As each ingot was issued, it would be addressed and affixed with a postmark based on the date of the ingot’s historical significance. Pictured is an ingot dated May 20, 1974, on the 200th anniversary of the date that King George signed into the Massachusetts Government Act in a direct attempt to control the government of Massachusetts. The collection includes 70 pieces with a total weight of 140.00 ozt.
