Sino-Tibetan Bronze Buddha Statue

Item Details

A Sino-Tibetan bronze depicting a seated Buddha. The figure, possibly Gautama Buddha, is depicted seated in dhyānāsana pose upon a lotus base wearing elegantly draped robes. His right arm, resting gently upon his knee, is held in the varada mudrā, the gesture of charity, while holding a diminutive lotus blossom. His left arm rests in his lap in the dhyāna mudrā, a gesture of meditation. He is depicted with a serene, meditative expression, long earlobes, tightly curled hair with traces of blue polychromy. The hollow statue is unmarked.
