A restrike of Felix Bracquemond’s etching after Hans Holbein the Younger’s Portrait of Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus. This print depicts the profile of Erasmus at study. It is signed in plate for both the original artist ‘H. Holbein’ to the lower left and for the engraver ‘Bracquemond’ to the lower right with title for the ‘Chalcographie Du Louvre Didier Erasme’ to the lower center of the margin. The print is presented under glass with a white mat and a decorative black and gold enamel frame; a wire is to the verso for hanging.
Condition
- frame is loose at joints and the corners and edges show wear, some residue on glass, some rippling under mat.
