An 1846-1860 C.G. Gonter second edition hand-written travel journal titled Journal of The Travels, Excursions, of the Bright Honorable C.G. Gonter Through the Western and Southern States and marked as published by Little Dove. This leather-bound journal features handwritten entries regarding Gonter’s work at the Public Journal of Lancaster and travels from Lancaster, Pennsylvania to St. Louis, Missouri along with ledgers of his purchases, and calculations. Gonter was a friend of the 15th President of the US, James Buchanan.
