1865 Civil War Discharge Certificate

Item Details

A June 24, 1865 dated Civil War discharge certificate. The certificate bears the stamp of an eagle to the top, has some hand-written manuscript with print, proclaiming a Sherwood Wilcox discharged as Sergeant of Captain O.C. Chasi’s Company, 177th Regiment of Ohio Infantry Volunteers, after being enrolled on the 29 day of August 1864 to serve one year during the war. The certificate was signed from Greensboro, North Carolina for reason being related to the close of the war.

- normal page toning, some chips to edges, creases at fold lines
- contained in a plastic sleeve
