Vipula Dharmawardena Circa 1970s Framed Batik

Item Details

A framed circa 1970s batik by prominent Sri Lankan batik artist Vipula Dharmawardena. The textile piece depicts a Sri Lankan village scene, with a couple to the foreground standing while holding a chicken. The work features a palette of red, green, brown and yellow hues. The image is bordered in black and signed in block to the lower right. The piece is presented without glass in a wooden frame with wire to the back for hanging.

- scratching to frame with age; light surface wear to fabric.
