A Gerson Bahia handcrafted replica of a 19th-century silver ‘Penca de Balangadan’ necklace, a talisman to be worn by African slaves in Colonial Brazil. It features an openwork pendant brooch flanked by two parrots, accented by multiple dangling embossed silver tone and wood charms. The verso features a straight pin and c-clasp, marked ‘Gerson Bahia’ and ‘Prata 633 B.A.’ with other illegible markings.
