A Chinese Ming dynasty (1368-1644) bronze Budai sculpture. This work features a calm Budai seated upon an ornate lotus throne flanked by two guardian lions. The figure is depicted with a serene face, an urna third eye, long earlobes, and a coiled hairstyle. The sculpture was gilded, as indicated by gilding traces throughout. It is unmarked.

Condition

- lots of gilding worn off, only traces of gilding left; wear including some tarnish, discoloration, and collected dirt.
