Qing Dynasty Painting of the Story of Yushun Plowing by Zhang Lingyun (张凌云)

A Chinese ink and watercolor painting on paper mounted as a hanging scroll on a cream brocade by the artist Zhang Lingyun (張凌雲), from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). This piece depicts the story of Yushun Plowing (虞舜耕田 Yushun geng lian), with several men wrangling an elephant, a classical metaphor for filial piety. There are two red seals present to the upper left corner. Wooden knobs to the top and the bottom.

minor discoloration to paper; minor stains to cream brocate.
