An early Qing dynasty (1644-1911), 18th-century painting on Fine Silk of Magu, Goddess of Longevity. Depicted is Magu riding a flower petal boat with two attendants, one appears to offer a handful of clouds, and the other sits near a basket full of chrysanthemums. Two double gourds, symbols of fertility and prosperity lay near the goddess. An inscription at the top reads ‘群仙拱壽圖’ (Qun xian gong shou tu). This painting was created on silk that has been affixed to plain silk mounted onto a cream silk brocade.
