Limited Edition Etching after a Lithograph of Frédéric Chopin

A limited edition etching after Gottfried Engelmann’s lithograph after the original 1833 portrait by Pierre Roch Vigneron of Frédéric Chopin. Executed in 1990, this work features a three-quarter view half-body portrait of the Polish composer. To the lower area of the print, this etching reads ‘Vigneron. 1883., Lith de Engelmann’. Handwriting in the lower margin reads ‘Ed II’ and is numbered 190 out of an edition of 300. Additional illegible handwriting in pencil is present to the lower margin, including the artist’s signature and date 1990. A descriptive tag with handwritten information is attached to the verso. Presented under glass in a simple wood frame with brown matting.

- wear to frame including scratches and discoloration; smudges and residue on glass; residue, grime, and stains on the back; dirt and dust throughout.
