Original Vintage Advertisement for Kuppenheimer After J.C. Leyendecker

Item Details

An offset lithographic reproduction of a 1922 advertisement for Kuppenheimer Clothing, originally illustrated by J.C. Leyendecker (1874-1951), the premier American illustrator of his time. This print depicts a well-dressed man in a straw hat and suit, reading a newspaper as his lovely female friend reads on over his shoulder. To the top of the print is the company name and slogan, ‘Good Clothes’, while the bottom of the poster reads ‘An Investment in Good Appearance’. This print is mounted beneath a single layer of dark matting and is presented behind glass in a black frame with hanging wire present to verso. The backing of the frame is open, allowing the viewer to see a label identifying the print as a reproduction, and giving instructions for display during the month of May. Please see link below for more information about Leyendecker’s life and work.
