Antique Brass Dentistry Mold
Item Details
An antique brass mold used in the production of dental prosthetics, dating to circa the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. This rectangular mold has forty-two impressions, divided into two sections headed ‘Upper Left’ and ‘Lower Left.’ The front is marked with a ‘G S’ or ‘S G’ monogram, and the back is marked ‘J. H. Prothero D.D.S.; J. W. Birkland D.D.S.’ James Harrison Prothero was Professor of Prosthetic Dentistry and Metallurgy at Northwestern University from 1898 to 1918.
