Stuart Fink Cubist Concrete Sculpture of an Elephant
Item Details
A Cubist stone assemblage block sculpture of an elephant by Cincinnati sculptor Stuart Fink. The geometric piece is typical of Fink’s oeuvre, with the pieces stacked in a playful building block manner, each piece having an uniquely defined manner. The sculpture sits atop a rectangular concrete plinth, with pale terra cotta top section and stout legs. A gray element distinguishes the mid-section with darker gray elements to the top.
Stuart Fink works in a variety of mediums, such as bronze, wood and concrete, with inspiration derived from the Cubist sculptures and paintings of Picasso. His work is widely exhibited and collected, with pieces shown at the Henri Gallery of Washington and the Sculpture Center in New York City.
