After Sir Alfred J. Munnings Offset Lithograph "Huntsman and Hounds at the Meet"

A framed offset lithograph after an original painting by Sir Alfred J. Munnings (British, 1878-1959). The Huntsman with Hounds at the Meet depicts a hunstman in his pink coat on a chestnut horse with hounds at his feet. The horse and rider are front and center, close to the picture plane. The rendering of the hounds becomes less distinct as they move away from the foreground until a second member of the hunt staff, mounted in the middle ground, seems concealed by fog. Munnings was a masterful and prolific equestrian artist and a president of the Royal Academy of Art. This print is triple matted and framed in a reeded gold tone frame and the verso includes ‘1318’ handwritten across the dust cover with a framer’s sticker and wire for hanging purposes.
