Vintage Botanical Print "Cinera cum flore" After Basilius Besler

A vintage botanical print after an original hand colored book plate by Basilius Besler (Nuremburg, Germany 1561-1629). It is part of a set that was created for the codex Hortus Eysttensis (The Garden of Eichstätt), inspired by the gardens of the Bishop of Eichstätt in Bavaria. This rendering of the original is exquisitely hand colored in vibrant tones and depicts Cinera cum flore with a label below. It presents behind glass in a wood frame.
Condition
Frame shows wear, backing paper is torn and stained; age consistent.
