A handwoven Persian style rug. This rug features a rounded black medallion populated with sprays of semi-geometric flowers and leaves. The medallion rests on a madder red, turtle-shaped field with vining floral elements, with decorative ivory corner spandrels. Grounded in black, the main border features a samovar design in the field colors. The palette is madder red, black, and ivory with cerulean, olive, shades of pink, and tan. The rug has a short kilim skirt and long ivory fringe at either end. It is unmarked.
