An oil painting on canvas by renowned contemporary artist Tom Levine (American, b.1945) titled Opus 16 #4. Executed during 1974, the work depicts a modern composition on a square canvas that has been painted in halves of blue and gray tones. This piece is signed, titled, and dated to the verso in black ink. On verso, the numbers ‘16/4’ are also written in graphite.
Levine was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has painted since a young boy. His abstract and figurative work can be found in museum collections, as well as numerous corporate collections. Levine received a BA in English and Business from Miami University, a Master’s in Psychology and Communications from The University of Denver, and an M.F.A. in Art History from the University of Cincinnati.
