A hand-knotted Caucasian Shirvan area rug. This hand knotted area rug features a seven-gull, tan-colored, octagonal sawtooth medallion is surrounded by a running dog border. The octagonal pendants on either side of the medallion, are identical; each featuring two birds facing a gull, among other accents, on an orange background. The field in off-white and includes small rosettes and trees on each corner. The rust-colored border features an unresolved cup and leaf border.
Condition
- a few frayed areas on edges; some damage inside the medallion .
