Edward Diers Original Watercolor Landscape

Item Details

An original early-20th century watercolor painting on paper by well-listed Cincinnati Rookwood Pottery artist and painter Edward ‘Ed’ Diers (1871-1947). The painting depicts a serene flat landscape with shadowy mountains in the distance. Leafy trees rise along the margins and a stunning pastel purple, orange, blue, and yellow sunset streaks across the painting’s sky. It is signed in black to the lower right corner. The piece is matted in brown with a stripe of gold accent and is presented behind glass in a thin wooden frame with black and gold finishes. A sticker from Closson’s Gallery is attached to the verso, where a hanging wire is also attached. More information about the artist can be found below under Additional Information.
