18th Century English Heraldic Bookplate, Earl Harry Grey

An English hand colored and engraved bookplate folio illustrating the heraldic crest of the _Right Honourable Harry Grey, Earl of Stamford…, from Sir William Segar’s authoritative volumes titled Baronagium Genealogicum (Pedigrees of the English), published in London in 1764. The heraldic crest illustrates a blue and white striped shield flanked by rampant unicorns, the motto on on the banner reads A Ma Puissance which translates as ‘According to my Power’.
The engraved heraldic folio bookplate has been professionally framed under glass with a beige mat having hand drawn gold lines and a marbled border, the carved wood frame is in a slate gray finish.
