1970s Museum of Fine Arts Houston Exhibition Poster Featuring "Born in Snovsk" After Jules Olitski

A circa 1974 poster from the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, celebrating the Inaugural Exhibition for the Brown Pavilion from January 15 to March 10, 1974. The offset lithograph celebrates The Great Decade of American Abstraction: Modernist Art 1960 to 1970. It features Born in Snovsk to the center, after a 1962 magna on canvas by listed Russo-American artist Jules Olitski (1922-2007). The image is bordered in black with museum and exhibition printed in white to the top and bottom. The piece is presented under glass in a silver tone metal frame with wire to the back for hanging.

Condition

- to Fair; foxing and fading to print; small tear to left side; frame is in Fair condition with loose joints and a crack in the glass to the lower right corner; discoloration to frame backing.
