Blue and White 19th Century China Platter

Item Details

A blue and white china platter from the 19th century. This oval shaped piece has scalloped edges with a blue and white transfer design. The border is decorated with grapes, foliage, and scenery. The center panel features a scene of the Indian “Tomb of Sher Shah Suri” with a domed roof, steps, and pillars. There are fishermen in boats in the foreground. The back of the platter is marked “Tomb of Shere Shah” and a stamp that reads ‘TaBG’.

Condition

- scuffs and scratches throughout; one chip to the rim; stains; could benefit from cleaning.
