Marc Chagall Signed Lithograph "Circe" from "Odyssey I" Series
Item Details
A signed lithograph by Marc Chagall (France, 1887-1985) titled Circe from his Odyssey I suite. This print depicts a nude woman, lounging with a sad man as they appear to float above the city scene below. They are surrounded by vegetation, angels, musicians, and soldiers, as the sun sets in the upper right corner. Signed in pencil to lower left, this print is mounted beneath a layer of mauve matting and is presented behind glass in a beveled gilt frame with sawtooth hanger present to verso. Chagall was a prolific artist and is considered by many to be the father of Surrealism.
