Meilin Han Original Signed Watercolor Painting
Item Details
An original signed watercolor painting on heavyweight rag paper by very well-listed contemporary Chinese painter and sculptor Meilin Han (韓美林, born 1936). The painting is created in Han’s signature fuzzy style, and depicts a playful monkey swinging from a precariously thin reed. The painting is signed in ink to the lower right, and the artist’s seal is stamped in red just below this. An additional seal is stamped in a red cartouche to the upper left. The painting is presented behind glass in a rounded wooden frame with a decorative brass hanger to its top edge. Meilin is well-known for the Fuwa dolls he created for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, for being named UNESCO’s ‘Artist For Peace,’ and for displaying work in prominent institutions across the world.
