Item Details
An oil painting on canvas titled Opera – Grand Hotel by Georges Gerbier (1906-1983). The work depicts a Parisian street scene with Le Grand Hotel to the left and the Opéra to the right. Cars and pedestrians bustle about the streets. Clothing of the figures is indicative of the mid to late 20th century. To the lower left corner, the work is signed by the artist, appearing to read ‘G. Gerdier.’ A pair of graphite inscriptions are present to the stretcher bar, one gives the item name. Presented in a wood gilt gesso frame.

- scuffing and chips to gesso present in frame, focused along bottom edge and corners.
