De Arte De Rambouillet Tapestry

A French tapestry after an original in the palace of Louis XVIII. The original tapestry was made at the Gobelin Museum; whose secrets of painting on fabric are guarded fiercely. The methods used by Gobelin are also used to create the recreated tapestries from de Arte de Rambouillet. The process by which the tapestries are recreated is intense and each one is aged. The tapestries are composed of viscose, linen and cotton. The label is applied to the back and descrbes the prcoess in which the tapestry was made, the orginal subject matter and the museum in which it is stored.
