Charcoal on paper
A charcoal drawing on paper titled Cheektowaga 2 by well-listed American artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela, b. 1954), created in 1976. In black and white charcoal, the work depicts a female nude in a full-length study. The work is signed and dated in black to the lower left. Presented as a loose sheet without a frame.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, he received his B.F.A. at the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others. He is most well-known for his non-objective abstract paintings that often exhibit a combination of linear delineation and spontaneous fluidity.
