A signed charcoal drawing on paper by contemporary artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela / New York; b. 1954), dated 1982. The study piece depicts a standing nude female with short dark hair and extended neck gazing to the upper left corner. Additional faded underdrawings are rendered with loose charcoal strokes under the figure. This work is signed and dated by the artist in black ink to the lower right corner. Presented as a loose sheet without a frame.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others.
