An artist’s proof woodcut engraving titled Dionysian Harlequin by well-listed American artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela, b. 1954), published in 1975. To the lower left margin, the print is marked as an artist’s proof, in pencil. The work is signed and dated in pencil to the lower right margin. Presented as a loose print with a descriptive label to the verso.

Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, he received his B.F.A. at the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others. He is most well-known for his non-objective abstract paintings that often exhibit a combination of linear delineation and spontaneous fluidity.
