An original signed late-20th century reputed Cincinnati artist Dale Benedict (1932-2002). The painting depicts a serene forest landscape painted with exquisite detail. A small stream bubbles through a rocky forest floor, creating picturesque rapids that run between its vivid autumnal banks. The painting is signed in white to the lower right corner. A handwritten note to the verso of the stretcher bar reads, ‘Edie: I know you appreciate art as I do. The best to you in all your endeavors. Dale Benedict Aug 29, 1990.’ Benedict was a member of the Ohio Watercolor Society and was president of the Cincinnati Art Club from 1981 to 1983, where he was also a member for many additional years.
