Ricardo Morin Mixed Media on Tracing Paper

A mixed media painting on tracing paper by contemporary artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela / New York; b. 1954). Enclosed within a translucid orange contour, the piece depicts an abstracted scene constructed with multiple blotches of deep blues and grays. Creating transitioning intertwined forms overlapped by black vertical lines and white curved outlines, situated against a white translucid background. The work is unsigned by the artist. Presented without frame, awaiting presentation of choice.

Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others.
