An oil painting on canvas of an abstract composition by listed artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela, b. 1954). Executed in 2009, this work depicts an amorphous form in orange and green tones applied in a manner that resembles geometric shapes. The composition has a painted gray edge to the left and right of the composition. To the verso, the piece is signed by the artist and dated in black ink. This piece is presented unmounted and unframed.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others.
