Antique Primitive Dough Box

Item Details

An antique, primitive dough box. Often called a “kneading trough,” dough boxes were used to make large quantities of bread at one time, and could be moved to a place in the kitchen that was warm for the dough to rise. This box has a trough shape, somewhat triangular, with a removable wooden lid with support bars to prevent warping. It has two cut-out planks of wood for legs. The box is finished in a red paint color.
