19th Century Moreau Gilt Spelter Clock

A 19th century Moreau gilt spelter clock. Created after a sculpture by the senior Louis Auguste Moreau, and reproduced as a clock by the family. Featured is a seated neoclassical noble woman surrounded by the feminine arts. In her hand she holds knitting needles, a lyre sits to the left of the clock face, and an open music book is present. ‘Moreau’ is signed to the lyre. Serial number 6436 is present to both the pendulum and French movement. Comes with original key.
