Tom Lohre Melted Oil Pastel Painting on Acrylic Glass "Empire State Building III"

An original 2012 melted oil pastel painting on acrylic glass by contemporary Cincinnati artist and inventor Tom Lohre (20th/21st century), titled Empire State Building III. The image depicts the massive blue and mustard form of the Empire State Building rising from a dotted landscape below. The painting is signed in red and presented in a contemporary composite frame with gold tone finish and a hanging wire. The painting was created by melting 175 carefully selected colors of oil pastels onto the acrylic glass; its execution was guided by a pixelated photograph in a manner similar to that which is carried out by the painting machine invented by Lohre using Lego’s Mindstorm Invention System in 2003. This method of painting claims to make the most of the least. Lohre claims to be the first to have ever painted a spaceship from life; he also painted the eruption of Mt. Saint Helens from life.
